Kyle Van Noy Hits Career-High 12.5 Sacks, Secures $250K Incentive
BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy capped off a remarkable 2025 NFL season with a career-high 12.5 sacks, surpassing expectations for the 33-year-old veteran in his 11th year. His performance not only solidified his role as a defensive cornerstone but also earned him a $250,000 contract incentive.
Van Noy, a two-time Super Bowl champion, joined the Ravens in 2024 and quickly became a key contributor to their defense. His 12.5 sacks placed him among the league’s elite pass rushers, alongside names like TJ Watt and Trey Hendrickson. This achievement marked the first time in his career that he reached double-digit sacks in a single season.
In a recent episode of the podcast “McCoy & Van Noy,” Van Noy reflected on his journey and the skepticism he has faced throughout his career. “I told y’all that my guy made a statement,” said three-time All-Pro Gerald McCoy, co-host of the podcast. “He said, ‘I know I can play at an All-Pro level. I know I can play at a Pro Bowl level, and I’m gonna show y’all that I can play at that level.'”
Van Noy’s resurgence has been a testament to his resilience and work ethic. After being released by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023, he signed with the Ravens and immediately made an impact. His 9 sacks in 2024 earned him a contract extension, but he didn’t stop there. “I showed Baltimore, got 9 sacks, re-signed. Oh, that’s still not good enough? All right, bet. I’ll hit double digits,” Van Noy said during the podcast.
The linebacker’s performance has also had a ripple effect on the Ravens’ defense, which has consistently ranked among the league’s best since his arrival. “Wherever I go, I can honestly say this: I feel like teams are better when I’m there,” Van Noy added. “And then when I leave, teams seem to go a little bit the other direction.”
Van Noy’s success has not gone unnoticed by his teammates and coaches. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh praised his leadership and consistency, calling him “a model professional” and “a game-changer on the field.”
As the Ravens prepare for the playoffs, Van Noy’s contributions will be crucial to their championship aspirations. His ability to disrupt opposing offenses and his relentless pursuit of excellence have made him a fan favorite in Baltimore and a respected figure across the league.
