Kylian Mbappé Receives Golden Boot, Aims for More Trophies at Real Madrid
Madrid, Spain — Kylian Mbappé expressed a desire to remain at Real Madrid for many years after receiving the European Golden Boot for the 2024-25 season. The award ceremony took place on Friday at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
Mbappé earned the prestigious trophy by scoring 31 goals during his debut season with the club, collecting 62 points in the competition. He revealed the honor means a lot to him as a forward. ‘It’s a pleasure for me to win the Golden Boot,’ he said at the event, attended by coach Xabi Alonso, teammates, and club president Florentino Pérez.
He topped the scoring chart ahead of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who finished with 58.5 and 58 points, respectively. Mbappé noted the importance of winning collective prizes, stating, ‘We have an incredible group. I hope we’re going to win important prizes this year.’
Real Madrid has started the 2025-26 season strong, winning 12 out of 13 games. They currently sit five points clear at the top of LaLiga after a recent victory in the Clásico against their rivals.
Mbappé reported a strong start to the current season, having scored 16 goals so far. He emphasized the teamwork necessary for success and expressed gratitude toward the club’s medical and support staff. ‘Without these players, it’s impossible to win these prizes,’ he acknowledged.
Pérez applauded Mbappé’s contributions, saying, ‘I’m very proud that our team can count on a player like you. You perfectly represent the values of this club.’ The Golden Boot positions Mbappé among Real Madrid legends, as he became the fourth player from the club to win the accolade.
As the team prepares to face Valencia this weekend, Mbappé remains focused on continuing his scoring streak and contributing to the club’s success in the current season.
