Lamine Yamal Barcelona Injury News

Barcelona, Spain — Lamine Yamal will not play in Barcelona’s upcoming match against Sevilla due to a recurring pubic injury that has troubled him for several weeks. The 18-year-old winger sustained the injury during the September international break, after which he missed four club matches. Despite a brief return last week, his condition worsened during training.

Barcelona confirmed the setback, stating that Yamal’s injury had re-emerged after their midweek Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain. The club estimates he will be sidelined for two to three weeks.

Barça head coach Hansi Flick has expressed his frustration with Spain’s national team manager Luis de la Fuente for hastily including Yamal in matches while he was suffering from the injury. “We have to wait. We must manage his load,” Flick said in response to questions about Yamal’s timeline for recovery.

In Yamal’s absence, Barcelona will need to adjust their offensive strategy ahead of significant matches, including the first El Clásico of the season against Real Madrid on October 26. The young star has been a key player this season, contributing two goals and four assists in his first four LaLiga matches, and his absence creates challenges for the squad.

Barcelona will face Sevilla this Sunday at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium aiming for a victory, but they will also be missing Raphinha and other key players due to injuries. Coach Flick may turn to Robert Lewandowski, Marcus Rashford, and Ferrán Torres to lead the attack.

Flick’s team is prepared to adapt, with various young prospects from La Masía stepping up to fill in for the injured stars. Yamal’s condition remains a point of concern for Barcelona as they navigate the demands of the season while trying to keep their title ambitions alive.
