ORLANDO, Fla. — Lance Anoa’i announced his departure from WWE on social media after his career with the company was marred by injuries. The 33-year-old wrestler, who is part of the famous Anoa’i wrestling family, expressed disappointment but remained determined to continue pursuing his career.

“I would officially announce my departure from WWE! I didn’t have the best of luck since I arrived! I will not let this stop me from achieving to be great! I’ve worked hard on the indies for 15 years! Now let’s get back to work! 30 days,” Anoa’i wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Lance Anoa’i signed with WWE in the summer of 2024 but suffered injuries shortly after, preventing him from making his in-ring debut. After a series of recovery setbacks, he confirmed that he would resume his wrestling career in the independent circuit post his 30-day non-compete clause with WWE.

Born into a wrestling legacy, Anoa’i is the son of Samu and the grandson of Afa Anoa’i. He has been wrestling professionally since 2010, with notable tenures at Major League Wrestling (MLW) and Pro Wrestling NOAH. Anoa’i has won tag team championships and participated in prestigious tournaments.

The Anoa’i family includes prominent WWE figures such as Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, indicating a rich history in the sport. Anoa’i is hopeful that he can continue to build his legacy outside WWE.

Lance is not the only wrestler to leave WWE recently, as multiple talents, including Stevie Turner and Drako Knox, also confirmed their exits. These developments indicate significant changes within the company’s roster.
