Liz Hurley Ribbon Run Launches with Generous Donation
The Liz Hurley Ribbon Run is set to take place in just over a week, with significant support from local organizations in Madison County, Alabama. Madison County Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon recently announced a $10,000 donation to the Ribbon Run Foundation, a contribution aimed at supporting breast cancer patients and survivors in the region.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, October 19, will include the annual 5K race and a Survivors’ Walk through downtown Huntsville. This year, as in previous years, the run is expected to draw thousands of participants eager to support the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund at the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
The proceeds from the 2024 Ribbon Run are intended to address the top-priority needs of the Huntsville Hospital Breast Center. Notably, funds will be used for essential software upgrades for three 3D mammogram machines, which are critical for enhancing the clarity of mammographic images and improving diagnostic accuracy.
Last year’s event saw an impressive turnout of 6,255 participants, all striving to make a positive impact. Registration for this year’s run is still open to the public.
