Lori Harvey to Grace Playboy’s First Print Cover in Five Years
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Playboy is making a highly anticipated return to print, with model Lori Harvey gracing the cover of its spring issue, the first in five years. The announcement, made on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, marks a significant moment for the iconic brand, which has been absent from print since 2020.
The 28-year-old model and entrepreneur shared the news in a collaborative Instagram post with Playboy, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the photoshoot. In the video, Harvey wore a black sequin bodysuit and feathered boots, as well as a backless long-sleeve dress. The caption read, “PLAYBOY returns to print with Lori Harvey on the cover. Preorder today. On stands 02.10.25.”
The spring issue will officially launch during Super Bowl Weekend in New Orleans, with a special event to celebrate its release. The issue will also feature comedian Tiffany Haddish and other yet-to-be-revealed personalities.
Playboy announced its return to print in August 2024 but kept the cover model under wraps until now. Ben Kohn, CEO of PLBY Group, emphasized the brand’s commitment to adapting to modern media trends while honoring its legacy. “Playboy is the quintessential iconic brand, and it has always been more than a magazine – it is the original creator business that has launched hundreds of careers over the past seventy years,” Kohn said. He added, “The decision to reintroduce Playboy magazine reflects the Company’s commitment to adapting to the evolving media landscape while preserving the brand’s rich heritage.”
Harvey, who made her runway debut in 2017 at Milan Fashion Week, has since become a prominent figure in the fashion world, appearing in campaigns for brands like Michael Kors, Valentino, and Burberry. Despite her success, she has been vocal about the challenges of size inclusivity in the industry. “I absolutely felt pressure to be a certain size, especially when I first started,” Harvey said. “When you’re backstage and they’re fitting you, everything is sample size. You’re expected to be very, very tall and very, very thin.”
Harvey has made inclusivity a cornerstone of her personal brand, stating, “When it came to developing my brands, I was like, ‘OK, inclusivity is number one on my list.’” Her advocacy aligns with Playboy’s recent efforts to modernize its image and appeal to a broader audience.
The spring issue of Playboy will hit newsstands on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, marking a new chapter for the storied publication.
