St. Louis Blues Vs Carolina Hurricanes 2024

Joel Hofer, the talented goaltender for the St. Louis Blues, delivered a remarkable performance on Thursday, warranting a second consecutive start. Hofer is expected to be in the starting position during the team’s morning skate on Saturday as they prepare to face the Carolina Hurricanes. The upcoming match is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Bally Sports, 101 ESPN, and the Blues App. Hofer’s previous game was notable for a 34-save shutout and an assist during the game-winning goal in a 1-0 overtime victory.

“He’s confident in his puck play,” stated Blues’ Head Coach Drew Bannister. “That’s one thing you really like about him; he doesn’t change who he is, and who he is helps our team out.”

The only roster adjustment announced is on the fourth line, where Nathan Walker will replace Alexey Toropchenko, who is currently dealing with a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day. Defenseman Nick Leddy is also sidelined with a lower-body injury and is deemed questionable for Tuesday’s game, according to Bannister.

Forwards at practice included Brandon Saad, Robert Thomas, and Jordan Kyrou on the first line, while the defensive pairs consisted of Ryan Suter with Colton Parayko, and Philip Broberg alongside Justin Faulk. Joel Hofer is slated to start as goalie for the match.

On the other side, the Carolina Hurricanes are coming into the second half of their first back-to-back games of the season against the Blues on Saturday. The Hurricanes are on a winning streak, having secured victories against the New Jersey Devils and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Notably, rookie winger Jackson Blake scored his second goal in consecutive games.

St. Louis enters the game with a 3-2-0 record in their first five games. In their most recent outing, they achieved a 1-0 overtime win. The Blues have also claimed victories over the Seattle Kraken and San Jose Sharks.

Jordan Kyrou has been leading the team’s production with six points in five games, and will be a key player for Carolina to focus on defensively. Former Hurricane Justin Faulk has also had a commendable start to the season with four points.

This match marks the first of two meetings between these teams this season, with the next scheduled encounter in Raleigh on November 17. The game will be held at the Enterprise Center, where puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM EST. Mike Maniscalco and Tripp Tracy will cover the game for Bally Sports South.
