Louisville Football’s Marrow Takes New Role Amid Coaching Changes

Louisville, KY — Vince Marrow has accepted the position of general manager for the Louisville football program after spending 12 seasons with the University of Kentucky. The announcement, first reported by ESPN’s Adam Thamel, confirms Marrow’s switch to U of L, where he will oversee roster management, recruiting, and the transfer portal.
Marrow, who was previously the associate head coach and tight ends coach at Kentucky, has been a vital member of the coaching staff since Mark Stoops‘ first season in 2013. Known for his extensive experience, he will handle all general manager duties, which includes staff oversight, operational planning, and strategic decisions.
Just six months ago, Marrow opted to remain at Kentucky after considering an offer from another institution. He had also turned down a job offer in 2020. His last extension at UK, which kept him there through the 2026 season, included an annual salary of $1.3 million. Meanwhile, Louisville had not appointed a general manager during Jeff Brohm‘s three years as head coach.
Marrow’s transition comes as the Louisville Cardinals prepare for a critical season that is anticipated to be competitive. As they move into the NCAA tournament, the Cardinals demonstrate resilience after a challenging ACC Tournament, rallying to secure spots in the postseason.
With the Cardinals aiming for their sixth College World Series (CWS) appearance, they have responded strongly to being overlooked in the previous year’s postseason. Freshman pitcher is eager to make a mark, stating, “Our goal is to help this program get back to that winning standard in the postseason.”
The Louisville baseball team is looking forward to their double-elimination matchups in Omaha starting Friday, a testament to their commitment to reclaim respect within collegiate baseball.
