Long-time ITV Granada Reports anchor Lucy Meacock has made the emotional decision to step down from her role after an illustrious 36-year career with the program. Meacock, a revered figure in the broadcasting industry, announced her departure, expressing gratitude for the cherished opportunity.

Starting her journey at Tyne Tees TV back in 1984, Meacock’s dedication and rapport with viewers have solidified her place as one of the most respected journalists in the North West region. Over the years, she has been a familiar face in households, delivering news since 1988.

Reflecting on her tenure, Meacock shared, “For me, it has always been the best job in the world, with the best people in the world, in the best region in the world. I am immensely thankful for the chance I was given many years ago to serve this community and contribute positively.”
