Málaga Secures Important Win Against Andorra Despite Red Card
Málaga, Spain – Málaga faced Andorra on Saturday in a crucial match that aimed to boost their spirits and add much-needed points before their home crowd.
Although Málaga took the lead in the first half, the game became challenging after the break when Darko Brasanac received a red card. In the 48th minute, the Serbian midfielder was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Le Normand. Brasanac was late on the challenge, leaving the Andorra player on the ground. The referee promptly issued a red card, reducing Málaga to ten players.
Instead of being deterred, the Málaga team pressed on and extended their lead through Lobete. A brilliant team play saw Larrubia set up Lobete after the ball deflected off an Andorra defender. Lobete, a rising talent from Málaga’s youth academy, took full advantage and scored against the Hungarian goalkeeper.
Larrubia, who recently signed an extended contract, had struggled earlier in the season amid the pressure to be a standout player. However, he made a significant impact by scoring an essential goal in the 20th minute when he capitalized on a poor defensive clearance from Yaakobishvili. Larrubia skillfully maneuvered past defenders before finishing confidently.
The young star celebrated jubilantly, visibly emotional as he ran off the field, shedding tears and apologizing during his celebration. He expressed how much the moment meant to him, a true highlight in what has been a tough season.
