Malema Urges Silence Break from EFF Leaders
Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has sent a strong message to party leaders who have remained quiet after the recent resignation of deputy president Floyd Shivambu. This resignation has caused quite a stir within the party, leading to speculation about who might leave next.
During a gathering of Gauteng EFF members, Malema pointed out that many leaders who usually voice their opinions on social media have chosen to stay silent on Shivambu’s departure. He expressed concern about their loyalty to the party during this challenging time.
Malema stressed that the EFF’s constitution requires its members to speak up and defend the party when it’s under attack. He questioned the whereabouts of those leaders who are typically outspoken yet have opted for silence now.
He made it clear that those who choose to remain quiet in tough moments are considered “silent enemies” of the EFF. Malema urged everyone to openly show their support for the party and not shy away from speaking out.
He hinted that certain leaders might be more focused on their personal ambitions, particularly with the EFF’s upcoming elective conference in December. Malema alluded to individuals who might be positioning themselves for top roles within the party while ignoring the urgency of supporting it right now.
Specifically, he brought up Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, who has been mentioned as a possible new secretary-general of the EFF. Malema warned party members not to use the upcoming assembly as leverage to threaten their departure from the party.
In a bold statement, he encouraged anyone thinking of leaving to “do it now,” so the party could understand how many true supporters it has left. Malema emphasized that the EFF does not need to beg anyone to stay.
