Manchester United has reportedly agreed to sign 18-year-old Sekou Kone from Malian club Guidars FC. Kone, a defensive midfielder, is expected to join United with plans for him to adapt to life in England through their under-21 teams.

Manager Erik ten Hag has emphasized the importance of assisting Kone in overcoming the cultural transition from Mali. The club aims for a gradual integration of the young talent into their system.

Kone is seen as a player with significant potential, and although he is primarily viewed as a long-term investment, the club hopes he will eventually provide support for the first team in the defensive midfield position.

So far in the summer transfer window, Manchester United has signed players from several clubs, including Lille, Bologna, and Bayern Munich. The team is looking to build a strong squad for the upcoming season.

In their latest match, Manchester United secured a narrow 1-0 victory and looks forward to their upcoming fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion this Saturday.

Moreover, reports by Fabrizio Romano indicate that Kone has been a target for multiple clubs, but Manchester United successfully clinched his signature. Fans are eager to observe Kone’s development as he transitions into the English football scene.

Starting his career at the JMG academy in Bamako, Mali, Kone has already made a name for himself by representing Mali’s youth national team. His performances, especially during the under-17 FIFA World Cup, stood out as Mali achieved a third-place finish.

The transfer fee for Kone has not been publicly disclosed at this stage, but it is anticipated to be a substantial amount given his promising talent.
