Manning Brothers Face Off in Kick of Destiny 3 Ahead of Super Bowl LIX
NEW YORK, N.Y. — Former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning will trade their playbooks for kicking cleats in the highly anticipated Kick of Destiny 3, set to air during the Super Bowl LIX pregame show on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025. The live event, broadcast on Fox at 3 p.m. ET, will feature the brothers competing in a head-to-head 25-yard field goal challenge, with fans having the chance to win a share of $10 million in bonus bets through FanDuel Sportsbook.
According to a recent SB Nation Reacts survey, 59% of participants predict Eli Manning will emerge victorious over his older brother Peyton. The younger Manning, known for his clutch performances during his NFL career, is seen as the favorite due to his athleticism and composure under pressure. “Eli has always been the more athletic of the two,” the survey noted, referencing his ability to outrun Hall of Fame pass rusher Jason Taylor during his playing days.
The competition rules are straightforward: each brother will attempt a 25-yard field goal. If the first kicker makes the attempt, the second will have a chance to tie. If the first misses, the second can secure the win with a successful kick. If no winner is determined after three rounds, the tiebreaker will go to the brother whose final kick lands closest to the center target.
This marks the third installment of the Kick of Destiny series, which previously featured NFL legend Rob Gronkowski. Gronkowski missed both of his attempts in the last two years, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the Manning brothers’ showdown. “There’s always fun to be had around the Super Bowl,” said an SB Nation spokesperson. “Between the commercials, the halftime show, and all the pageantry, the NFL always goes all out.”
Fans can participate by downloading or logging into FanDuel Sportsbook, selecting their predicted winner, and tuning in to the live broadcast. The event promises to be a highlight of the Super Bowl festivities, blending sportsmanship, sibling rivalry, and fan engagement in a unique way.
