Marash Kumbulla Mallorca Transfer

PALERMO, Italy — Marash Kumbulla has reportedly received permission from AS Roma to travel to Mallorca for a medical ahead of his loan transfer to the Spanish club. The agreement, confirmed on August 15, includes an option to buy for €8 million.

The 25-year-old Albanian defender is set to join RCD Mallorca, where he will team up with Kosovar striker Vedat Muriqi. According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the medical tests are scheduled for this weekend, and both clubs expect the transfer process to be completed quickly.

Kumbulla has a significant history with Roma, having made 68 competitive appearances since joining from Hellas Verona in 2020 for a reported fee of €29.5 million. He has also enjoyed loan spells at Espanyol and Sassuolo over the last two seasons.

This move presents an opportunity for Kumbulla to regain form and increase playing time after a less fruitful period at Roma. Mallorca, aiming to improve their central defense ahead of the La Liga season, views this loan as a strategic acquisition.

Sources within Mallorca have expressed excitement about the potential chemistry between Kumbulla and Muriqi, especially as the team prepares for their first match against Barcelona. The loan with a purchase option allows both clubs financial flexibility while altering their rosters as required.

As Kumbulla prepares for his medical, recent photos show him enthusiastic about the prospective move. Should he pass the medical, he is likely to don Mallorca’s blue-red jersey, bringing his experience from the Albanian National Team to the field.
