Marvel Rivals Emma Frost Gameplay

HONG KONG, April 9, 2025 — NetEase Games is set to release the highly anticipated Season 2 of Marvel Rivals on April 11, introducing players to an array of new features including Emma Frost as a playable hero, a new battle pass, and an exciting map themed around the iconic Hellfire Gala.

In this latest season dubbed “Hellfire Gala,” players will see the debut of Emma Frost, the game’s 38th hero and 10th Vanguard, known for her blend of psychic and physical abilities. Frost can control the battlefield with her unique powers before shifting into her formidable Diamond Form. Her arrival promises to add depth to gameplay as players strategize her abilities in combat.

In addition to the new hero, the Hellfire Gala: Krakoa map will debut, taking players to the center of mutant politics. This Domination map requires players to compete across three rounds and will feature a rotation in the competitive pool. “This new map is designed to enhance the gameplay experience and elevate competitive play,” said a spokesperson from NetEase Games.

The game will also introduce a new battle pass, Flower of Krakoa, available from April 11 through June 11. The standard battle pass will retail at 990 Lattice, with an upgraded option available for 2,100 Lattice, entitling players to enhanced rewards including fresh costumes.

Several costumes will also be featured, with premium bundles such as Emma Frost’s X-Revolution and Star-Lord’s King of Spartax available at launch. Free skins for other characters like Mantis and Scarlet Witch will be offered throughout the season, alongside an exclusive costume for Marvel Unlimited subscribers.

The Cerebro Database event kicks off simultaneously with the new season, featuring unique challenges and rewards, including a free Mantis – Flora Maiden costume. Players are encouraged to participate to maximize their rewards.

NetEase further enhances the gameplay experience with the introduction of a new Twitch Drop campaign, offering players the chance to earn the Namor – Will of Galacta costume by viewing designated streams. The update also plans to introduce various adjustments to ranked play, including a reset of player ranks to better align with competitive standards.

“We are shifting our post-launch plans to deliver content updates more rapidly. Players can expect new features, heroes, and balance updates frequently,” said a representative. Additionally, multiple adjustments and fixes across all platforms will be implemented to improve the overall player experience.

The server downtime for the update is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. ET on April 11, estimated to last about 2-3 hours. Players will be unable to access the game during this period as these significant changes are implemented.

As the date approaches, the excitement builds within the community. Fans eagerly anticipate exploring the new additions and engaging in competitive play with fresh strategies arising from the season’s updates.
