Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority Lottery

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) lottery draw on October 10, 2024, has attracted overwhelming interest, with approximately 187,000 applicants vying for just 361 available plots. The draw is set to take place at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida.

To uphold transparency and ensure a fair process, Yeida officials have engaged a committee of three retired high court judges to monitor the draw. The allocation lottery represents the largest draw conducted by Yeida in terms of the number of applicants, according to authorities.

All available plots are located near the forthcoming Noida greenfield international airport. These plots, which range from 120 square meters to 4,000 square meters, are situated in sectors 16, 18, 20, and 22D along the Yamuna Expressway. According to Yeida officials, the airport is anticipated to be operational by April 2025.

The plot scheme was introduced in July, offering plots at ₹29,500 per square meter. Arun Vir Singh, the Chief Executive Officer of Yeida, noted the overwhelming response from potential property buyers. “We have seen massive interest because of the prime location near the Noida international airport. The entire process will be videographed and live-streamed to maintain complete transparency,” he stated.

From a total of 202,235 submitted applications, 187,000 have been declared eligible. These applicants have opted for a one-time payment option if they are successful in the draw. “Preferences were clear in the scheme brochure that one-time payers will get priority, thus applicants opting for installment payments are not considered in the draw,” Singh added. Refunds will be processed for those applicants shortly after the lottery.

The demand has been particularly high for plots measuring 120 square meters, with 67,197 applications submitted for that size alone, Yeida officials mentioned. Additionally, 59,613 applications were recorded for 300 square-meter plots, and 44,181 for 162 square-meter plots.

Yeida anticipates that about 1% of applicants will physically attend the Expo Centre event for the lucky draw, while others can follow the proceedings through a live broadcast on social media platforms. The draw, which includes video documentation, is designed to ensure a fair and transparent allocation process.

Officials have assured that unsuccessful applicants will have their deposit refunded within 72 hours after the draw. Singh added, “The success is due to the strategic location, robust infrastructure, and the competitive pricing we offer compared to other cities.”
