AUSTIN, Texas — Max Verstappen secured pole position for the United States Grand Prix on Saturday, dominating the qualifying session with a time of 1:32.510. The four-time World Champion’s performance came despite a timing error from his Red Bull team that prevented him from completing a second timed lap in Q3.

Verstappen’s time placed him ahead of Lando Norris, who finished second with a gap of 0.291 seconds. Championship leader Oscar Piastri struggled and will start from sixth, a significant setback for the McLaren driver.

The excitement began in Q1 when Isack Hadjar crashed at Turn 6, resulting in red flags and stopping the session temporarily. Lance Stroll and Alex Albon had their times deleted for exceeding track limits, relegating them to the back of the grid.

This qualifying marks Verstappen’s 10th Sprint pole, continuing his strong form after winning the Sprint race earlier this weekend. The Red Bull driver expressed satisfaction over his performance and anticipated a challenging race ahead.

“It’s been a nice qualifying,” Verstappen stated. “It was just about putting it all together at the end when it matters most.”

Fans at the Circuit of the Americas will be eager to see if Verstappen can maintain his lead at the start of the race. As the drivers prepare for the event, attention also turns to Piastri’s ability to bounce back and whether any surprises await during the race.

The starting grid for tomorrow’s race includes Verstappen in first, followed by Norris, Charles Leclerc in third, and George Russell in fourth. The stage is set for a thrilling competition on Sunday.
