Melonik Suspended After Team Forsaken’s Controversial Incident

Warsaw, Poland – Riot Games has completed its investigation into an incident involving Team Forsaken and Bushido Wildcats, which resulted in sanctions against both teams. The investigation followed a public dispute on social media that escalated after a questionable display by Forsaken’s players.
The controversy began after Forsaken defeated the NLC team Rich Gang in the EMEA Masters Last Chance Qualifier. Following the match, Bushido Wildcats posted a video from Forsaken’s stream showing players engaging in inappropriate behavior, prompting their outcry.
Both Team Forsaken and Bushido Wildcats received warnings for their conduct, which violated Riot Games’ Esports Global Code of Conduct. The code mandates high standards of integrity and prohibits vulgar or provocative actions.
Although team members received warnings, Dawid ‘Melonik’ Ślęczka, a toplaner for Forsaken, received a two-game suspension. This suspension means Melonik will miss crucial upcoming matches, including a best-of-five against MISA Esports.
Riot stated that all involved parties had broken rules regarding personal integrity and offensive conduct, particularly with the 4.1 and 4.9 clauses of their code. Ziyad Apaydın, CEO of MISA Esports, was also involved, having made incendiary comments in defense of his team.
The result of this incident raises questions about appropriate behavior in competitive gaming, especially as the stakes increase ahead of the next tournament.
