LAS VEGAS (AP) — The No. 7 Michigan Wolverines crushed the No. 21 Auburn Tigers 102-72 on November 25, 2025, in a second-round matchup at the Players Era Championship.

The win improved Michigan’s record to 6-0, as the Wolverines outperformed Auburn in multiple areas, including shooting, rebounding, and assists. Roddy Gayle Jr. and Yaxel Lendeborg led the way for Michigan, each scoring 17 points. Nimari Burnett and Morez Johnson Jr. added 15 points each, while Trey McKenney chipped in 11 points.

Auburn, now 5-2, was unable to keep pace with Michigan’s dominance. Tahaad Pettiford was the leading scorer for the Tigers with 16 points, followed by Keyshawn Hall with 15. The Tigers struggled significantly, shooting just 35.5% from the field, while Michigan boasted a shooting percentage of 51.5%.

Michigan set the tone with a strong first half, leading 59-31 at halftime. The Wolverines went on a 21-4 run during the first half, showcasing their offensive prowess. They continued to outshine Auburn in the second half, despite Auburn’s improved shooting percentage of 50% after intermission.

The Wolverines dominated the boards, outrebounding Auburn 51-35, and their bench outscored Auburn’s 38-20. Michigan also excelled at the free-throw line, hitting 82% of their free throws compared to Auburn’s 54.5%.

Auburn had hoped to bounce back after a close loss the previous day but instead faced a lopsided defeat. This was the team’s first 30-point loss since 2023 and the first time they allowed 100 points since 2021.

The Tigers’ defense showed weaknesses as they surrendered 27 points in transition and failed to keep Michigan from finding a rhythm.
