Pm Modi Resigns, Likely To Take Oath For Third Term On June 8

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially tendered his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu following the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

The President has accepted Modi’s resignation, and he, along with his Council of Ministers, will continue until the new government assumes office.

Modi is expected to be sworn in for a third consecutive term as the Prime Minister on the evening of June 8, as per insider sources.

The NDA, led by the BJP, managed to secure 292 seats, just surpassing the majority mark, with the BJP falling just short of a majority on its own.

Narendra Modi is set to become the second leader to retain power for a third term after former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

Top leaders of the BJP-led NDA are scheduled to convene to assess the Lok Sabha election results and discuss the formation of the new government.

JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, the upcoming Andhra Pradesh chief minister, are expected to be present at the meeting alongside other top BJP allies.

The NDA, comfortably above the majority mark, is reliant on BJP allies for government formation.

TDP, JD(U), Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, and LJP led by Chirag Paswan have won crucial seats in the elections and will play a significant role in the government formation process.

PM Modi’s resignation has marked the beginning of the next phase in Indian politics, with the formation of a new government on the horizon.
