Italian club Napoli has turned down an offer from English Premier League giants Chelsea for their striker Victor Osimhen, as reported by Napoli Magazine. The rejected proposal reportedly involved Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku as part of a player-plus-cash deal to entice Napoli to part ways with their star player. Osimhen, who has been a target for both Chelsea and Arsenal, is a key figure in Napoli’s lineup.

The negotiation details were disclosed by Il Mattino, a well-known source for Napoli news. The report revealed Chelsea’s strong interest in Osimhen for the upcoming season and their attempt to use Lukaku as a bargaining chip. However, Napoli swiftly dismissed the proposal, indicating that they are not interested in acquiring Lukaku.

Victor Osimhen’s remarkable performance in the previous Serie A season, where he scored 26 goals in 32 appearances, helped Napoli secure their first league title in over three decades. In the current campaign, Osimhen has contributed 11 goals and three assists in 18 Serie A matches. His valuable contributions have made him a top target for clubs seeking striker reinforcements.

Aside from Chelsea, Arsenal has also been linked with a potential move for Osimhen as they seek to bolster their attacking options. The battle for the Nigerian striker’s signature is expected to intensify as the transfer window approaches, with Napoli standing firm on their valuation of the prolific forward.

As Napoli resists Chelsea’s initial offer, speculations suggest that the English club could explore alternative players to include in the deal. One such player mentioned is Armando Broja, who has previously been associated with Napoli as a potential transfer target. The intricate dynamics of the transfer market continue to unfold as clubs strategize their recruitment plans for the upcoming season.
