Nashville Predators Set for Road Trip Opener Against Ottawa Senators

NASHVILLE, TN – The Nashville Predators are beginning their first road trip of the season with a game against the Ottawa Senators today at 12 p.m. CT. This matchup is notable as it coincides with Ottawa’s home opener on Canadian Thanksgiving.
The Predators, who secured three out of a possible four points from their first two home games, seek to build on their early season performance. They started strong with a 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets before suffering a narrow 3-2 overtime defeat to the Utah Mammoth.
Predators’ Captain Roman Josi emphasized the importance of this road trip. “That first road trip, it’s always an important road trip. Just getting on the road with the guys… It would be good for us to get on the road and get some wins on the road,” he said.
Nashville’s forward Erik Haula echoed Josi’s sentiments, emphasizing the need to maintain their intensity. “I just think we need to keep going,” he stated. “It’s key for us to simplify and get better.”
In their last game, Filip Forsberg and Haula each scored, while 18-year-old Brady Martin earned his first NHL point. Goaltender Juuse Saros made 20 saves, boasting a .935 save percentage this season.
The Senators, on the other hand, started their season with a win but lost to the Florida Panthers 6-2 last Saturday. Ottawa’s Shane Pinto has emerged as a standout, tallying four goals and five points through his first two games.
The Predators hold a historic advantage over the Senators with a record of 19-13-(0)-5, including an 8-7-(0)-4 mark in Ottawa. The past season saw Nashville lose the regular-season series to Ottawa for the first time since 2011-12.
Nashville’s Pro Development Coach Mark Borowiecki previously played for the Senators before joining the Predators. Notable player milestones include Ryan O’Reilly nearing 100 career power play goals and Steven Stamkos approaching the 10th-most power play goals in NHL history.
The pregame show for today’s matchup starts at 11:30 a.m. CT on FanDuel Sports Network South, leading up to the broadcast call featuring Willy Daunic and Chris Mason on television.
