Nurse Babita, a dedicated healthcare professional hailing from Imliya Village in Greater Noida, has been recognized with a national award for her exemplary service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Completing her nursing course in 2013, Babita has been serving as a staff nurse at JIMS in Greeno. Amid the pandemic, when doctors started online consultations, Babita along with her colleague Usha, took the risk of providing in-person care to patients.

Together, they vaccinated a record-breaking number of 4,78,000 individuals during 2021-22. This remarkable feat led to them being felicitated on Women's Day, March 8, 2022, by the Central Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, with national awards for their outstanding contribution.

The significance of International Nurses Day, celebrated on May 12 every year, is in honor of Florence Nightingale, the renowned nurse who played a crucial role during the Crimean War. It is a day to commemorate the selfless dedication and compassion displayed by nurses worldwide in the field of healthcare. Additionally, Bai Kashibai Ganpat holds the distinction of being India’s first female nurse.
