Nebraska Women’s Basketball Dominates Mount Marty in Exhibition Win
LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Cornhuskers women’s basketball team earned a resounding 104-40 victory over Mount Marty in an exhibition game Friday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Sophomores Alexis Hargrove and Jada Prince both recorded double-doubles to lead the Big Red.
Hargrove, a 6-foot-2 forward from Christopher, Illinois, scored a game-high 26 points, hitting 6-of-8 three-pointers, and grabbed 10 rebounds. Prince, also a sophomore, contributed 14 points and dished out a game-high 10 assists.
Senior guard Sam Hake also made a significant impact, scoring 22 points while matching Hargrove’s 6-of-8 accuracy from beyond the arc. The team collectively excelled in three-point shooting, making 19 of 39 attempts for a record-setting performance at home.
In total, Nebraska outshot Mount Marty with an overall field goal percentage of 49.4% (39-of-79) but struggled at the free-throw line, converting only 7 of 12 attempts. The Huskers dominated the boards, outrebounding Mount Marty 49-39, and forced 23 turnovers compared to their own 10.
Mount Marty struggled offensively, shooting just 28.3% (17-of-60) for the game. Lacey Sprakel led the Lancers with 14 points and eight rebounds.
The first half showcased Nebraska’s offensive prowess, with the Huskers taking a commanding 55-17 lead into the locker room. Hake led Nebraska in the first half with 13 points on 3-of-4 three-point shooting, while Hargrove and Prince added 10 and 12 points, respectively.
Looking ahead, Nebraska will kick off its regular season against Northwestern State on Monday, Nov. 3, at noon (CT). The game will follow the annual Sizemore Sportsmanship Pep Rally, which starts at 9:30 a.m. and will host over 80 schools with nearly 4,000 student participants.
