New Developments Expected in Samantha Humphrey Case Today

Schenectady, NY — New information is anticipated today from the Schenectady County District Attorney’s office regarding the ongoing investigation into the death of 14-year-old Samantha Humphrey. Her body was discovered in the Mohawk River two years ago, following months of extensive searching.
The DA’s office plans to reveal updates as the investigation remains open. In fall 2024, the reward for information about Samantha’s death was increased to $20,000, thanks to contributions from her grandfather, Lou, among others.
Samantha, last seen in the Riverside Park area of the Stockade neighborhood on November 25, 2022, wore a black and pink puffy jacket, bell bottom jeans, and tan Timberland boots. After her disappearance, law enforcement conducted thorough searches, including aerial support from a state police helicopter.
“It’s just blank after that. I remember what happened, but it felt like the surreal world we were living in just got that much more outer space,” said Jeff Humphrey, Samantha’s father. “Did we have hope that was crushed? I know my sister did, and other family members did,” he added. “I had a fantasy hope that I’d have loved for her to walk in the door at any second.”
