New Orleans Saints Kick Off 2025 Rookie Minicamp Today

New Orleans, Louisiana — The New Orleans Saints officially began their 2025 Rookie Minicamp on Thursday, May 8, at the Ochsner Sports Performance Center. The camp features nine drafted players and 11 undrafted free agents, with the team also trying out 16 additional players.
Notable draft picks include offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. from Texas and quarterback Tyler Shough from Louisville. The Saints’ focus will be on developing their young talent as head coach Kellen Moore evaluates the team’s newest additions.
Shough has already been practicing at Tulane’s Yulman Field, building chemistry with new teammates, including fellow rookie wide receiver Bub Means and tight ends Juwan Johnson and Foster Moreau.
“This camp is a great opportunity for us,” Shough said. “I’m excited to show what I can do and learn from the coaching staff.”
The 16 tryout players include wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, who previously played for the Michigan Wolverines and the Cleveland Browns. He is seeking another opportunity after spending time with the Detroit Lions in 2023.
Other participants include punter James Burnip from Alabama and defensive lineman Patrick Jenkins, a local product from Tulane. Each of these participants faces a rigorous challenge to secure a spot on the final roster.
As the camp continues through May 11, fans will watch closely to see which players make an impression during practices.
