NHLPA Player Poll Results Revealed: McDavid Dominates Multiple Categories
The NHL Players’ Association (NHLPA) recently conducted a player poll, with the results showcasing the dominance of Connor McDavid in multiple categories. The Edmonton Oilers’ superstar center received an overwhelming number of votes across various sections, highlighting his prowess in the league.
McDavid emerged as the top choice under the category ‘If you need to win one game, who is the forward you want on your team?’ with close to 50% of the votes. His fellow NHL players expressed a clear preference for having McDavid as their go-to player in critical situations. Notably, future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby and other prominent names trailed behind in this survey.
Furthermore, McDavid was hailed as the league’s best stick-handler, securing over a third of all votes in this segment. This recognition solidifies his reputation as a skilled and reliable player on the ice. Veteran Patrick Kane, a respected figure in the NHL, followed McDavid but did not match his commanding presence.
Crosby, a seasoned professional, was deemed the NHL’s most complete player by the players themselves. Despite this acknowledgment, McDavid ranked highly as well, showcasing his multifaceted abilities on the ice. In a separate category, McDavid stood out as the most difficult forward to face in one’s own end, second only to Lightning defenseman.
Not to be outdone, Nikita Kucherov, the Tampa Bay Lightning forward and current NHL points leader, surpassed McDavid in the ‘best playmaker’ category. However, McDavid’s skills did not go unnoticed, as he claimed victory in other areas such as being the player most players least enjoy playing against but would want on their team.
Additionally, in a lighter category, Toronto Maple Leafs winger Auston Matthews was voted the player with the best style, besting his teammate. This fashion-related recognition adds a touch of fun to the poll results, showcasing the personality and flair of NHL players off the ice.
