Norman Powell Returns for Clippers Against Former Team Heat
INGLEWOOD, California — Norman Powell will return to the lineup for the Los Angeles Clippers tonight as they face the Miami Heat. Powell, who played for the Heat for the past 3.5 seasons, was sidelined for three games due to a groin strain.
In his first three games with the Clippers this season, Powell has averaged 24 points, 7.3 rebounds, and three assists while shooting 47.7 percent from the field and making 50 percent of his three-pointers.
Tonight’s game is set for 10:30 p.m. EST at the Intuit Dome, with both teams looking to gain momentum in the early season. The Clippers are 3-2, while the Heat are 3-3. Last season, the Clippers swept the Heat in their two matchups.
In terms of injuries, the Heat’s Tyler Herro is out with a foot injury, while Kasparas Jakučionis and Terry Rozier are also sidelined. For the Clippers, Yanic Konan Niederhauser is available despite an ankle issue, but Jordan Miller and Kobe Sanders will miss the game due to injuries.
Game broadcasts will be available on the FanDuel Sports Network and KTLA 5. The matchup remains critical for the standings as both teams aim to secure key wins early in the season.
Clippers’ head coach Tyronn Lue expressed confidence in Powell’s ability to contribute despite his recent injury. He said, ‘Norman brings a lot of energy to our team, and we look forward to having him back on the court.’
With a playoff atmosphere expected, the matchup also features stars like Bam Adebayo for the Heat, who will look to make an impact against his former teammate Powell.
