North Korea and Russia Suspected of Illegal Weapons Cooperation as Korean Character Found on Russian Missile in Ukraine
Poland‘s President Andrzej Duda recently discussed the country’s increased defense funding to counter Russia’s aggression during an interview with Fox News‘ Sunday Morning Futures.
According to an investigative group, Conflict Armament Research (CAR), a Russian missile fragment recovered in Ukraine contained a handwritten Korean (Hangul) character ‘ㅈ’. This discovery adds fuel to the suspicions of a possible weapons cooperation between North Korea and Russia, with the former allegedly producing ballistic missiles for the invasion of Ukraine.
The United States and South Korea have officially accused North Korea of supplying Russia with weaponry, including artillery and missiles, in exchange for technological and military advantages.
Earlier this month, National Security Council spokesman Kirby confirmed these allegations, stating that North Korea had recently provided Russia with ballistic missile launchers and several missiles.
Koo Byoungsam, the spokesperson for South Korea, expressed concern over the diplomatic visits between North Korea and Russia and closely monitored any potential agreements that could involve illegal arms exchanges.
Overall, this revelation raises serious questions about the possible collaboration between North Korea and Russia in the weapons trade, particularly regarding their activities in Ukraine.
