Oklahoma State Vs Utah Football 2024

In a highly anticipated Top 25 matchup of the 2024 college football season, No. 14 Oklahoma State University (OSU) hosts No. 12 University of Utah at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The game, set to take place on Saturday, September 21, kicks off at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET (3 p.m. CT) and will be broadcast on FOX.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys, led by quarterback Alan Bowman, are seeking to open their Big 12 Conference play with a victory. Meanwhile, the Utah Utes are working to maintain their strong start to the season. The Utes lead the game 16-3 in the fourth quarter, thanks to effective plays including a 44-yard field goal by Cole Becker.

Utah’s offense has been spearheaded by true freshman quarterback Isaac Wilson, who stepped in for star quarterback Cam Rising. Rising, who injured his throwing hand two weeks ago against Baylor, participated in warmups wearing a white glove, but Wilson was given the start. Wilson has managed to keep the team competitive with assistance from the Utah offensive line.

Brant Kuithe scored the first touchdown for Utah in the second quarter, building on their lead after a 38-yard field goal by Becker soon extended it. The Cowboys have struggled against the Utes’ defense, only managing a 23-yard field goal early in the game.

Oklahoma State faces additional challenges with several key players missing from their lineup. Linebacker Collin Oliver, offensive lineman Jake Springfield, and linebacker Justin Wright are all unavailable due to injuries. This has impaired the Cowboys’ effectiveness on both offense and defense.

The game unfolds amidst speculation about quarterback Cam Rising’s fitness and hopes for his return to action. With Utah’s defense proving formidable, OSU’s quarterback Garret Rangel’s efforts could be crucial in narrowing the score gap in the late stages of the game.
