Nfl Draft Anthony Belton Green Bay Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers selected offensive tackle Anthony Belton from North Carolina State with the 54th overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday night.

Belton, a 6-foot-6, 336-pound sixth-year senior, has made a name for himself as a reliable player. He started 33 games at left tackle for the Wolfpack, earning a third-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection in 2023. Notably, Belton did not allow more than three sacks in any season over the past three years, according to Pro Football Focus.

“That’s one of the things that attracted us to him,” said Jon-Eric Sullivan, the Packers’ vice president of player personnel. “He’s a big man, he’s versatile.” Belton’s versatility may allow him to play multiple positions on the offensive line.

Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Belton attended both Florida State University High School and Georgia Military Academy. He joins a Packers offensive line that welcomed three new draft picks last year, including first-rounder Jordan Morgan, who will likely compete this season with Rasheed Walker at left tackle.

Draft analyst Dane Brugler ranked Belton as his No. 9 offensive tackle prospect. Brugler noted in his scouting report that Belton uses his size to control the game but has room for improvement in footwork and consistency.

With Belton on the roster, the Packers strengthen their offensive line and hope to improve their protection for the quarterback, aiming for a successful 2025 season.
