Paris Masters Begins, Alcaraz Aims for Title
PARIS, France — The 2025 Rolex Paris Masters kicks off on October 27, featuring top-ranked players including Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Alexander Zverev. This year’s tournament will be held at the newly designated La Défense Arena.
Alcaraz, seeking his first Paris Masters title, comes into the tournament with recent momentum following his victory in Tokyo last month. The Spanish player, who currently leads the ATP Tour with 67 match wins and eight titles in 2025, aims to complete his collection of ATP Masters 1000 titles.
“It would be amazing to win here in Paris,” Alcaraz said. “I have been working hard, and this is one of the titles that has escaped me so far.”
Jannik Sinner, the second seed, hopes to improve his lackluster history in Paris, as he has only won one match in his three previous appearances. Sinner captured attention with his performance in Vienna and desires to carry that momentum into this tournament.
“This place has been tough for me, but I feel good coming into it,” Sinner remarked. “I hope to change my luck here.”
Alexander Zverev, the defending champion, aims for a title repeat after winning last year without dropping a set. As he prepares to defend his title, Zverev is confident but acknowledges the challenge ahead.
<p“I know it won’t be easy, but I’m ready,” Zverev stated. “It’s always special to come back and compete as a champion.”
Other notable players include American Taylor Fritz and rising star Ben Shelton, both looking to secure their spots for the season-ending tournament in Turin. While Fritz excels with 51 match wins this season, Shelton is poised to chase his first qualification.
In light of the tournament’s prize money, the total is €6,128,940, with the singles winner set to take home €946,610. This year’s Paris Masters presents a pivotal opportunity for players to earn vital ATP Ranking points for the upcoming events.
The tournament runs from October 27 to November 2, with fans eagerly awaiting to see who will emerge victorious in this new chapter at La Défense Arena.
