Kansas City, MO — Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes expressed frustration after the team’s 28-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills, marking the first time this season he did not complete a rushing or passing touchdown.

Mahomes acknowledged his need to improve, saying, “I got to be better working the pocket, find different lanes to step up through. We were able to hit some shots down the field, but I’ve just got to be more consistent with that.” He emphasized the importance of team consistency during the bye week.

“We got to be more consistent as a team. I got to be more consistent as a quarterback, and we got to be able to battle,” said Mahomes. He reflected on the team’s history of close games, noting that they’ve not been going their way lately. “You got to kind of learn from it fast, and it’s gonna be an uphill battle when we get back, but I think our guys are up to it.”

As the Chiefs regroup, Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, continues to make strides in women’s soccer as a co-owner of the Kansas City Current. Brittany is preparing for the NWSL postseason, where the Current will face Gotham FC in the quarterfinals on November 9.

Before that, it was announced on November 6 that Brittany will join a new advisory board to help the NWSL grow, working alongside athletes and cultural icons. NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman stated, “The group will serve as mentors and cultural connectors while helping expand the league’s reach through partnerships and appearances in NWSL campaigns.”

Patrick Mahomes expressed pride in Brittany’s new role, sharing the news on his Instagram Stories. The advisory board includes notable figures like Eli Manning, Sue Bird, and Brandi Chastain.

This season, the Kansas City Current achieved significant milestones, becoming the fastest team to clinch the NWSL Shield and winning 20 league matches. They also generated a record $36 million in revenue in 2024 after the opening of CPKC Stadium.

With an impressive season and new initiatives in place, both Mahomes and Brittany are poised for growth as they tackle their respective challenges.
