Patrick Mahomes And Travis Kelce Break Nfl Playoff Touchdown Record

FOXBORO — Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs made history on Sunday by breaking the NFL playoff touchdown record previously held by Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. The dynamic duo connected for two touchdowns in the AFC divisional round victory over the Buffalo Bills, bringing their total postseason touchdown tally to 16.

Their second touchdown, scored in the third quarter, put Kansas City ahead 20-17 and surpassed the 15 touchdowns Brady and Gronkowski achieved during their time as teammates on the Patriots and Buccaneers.

Mahomes and Kelce’s impressive performance did not go unnoticed by Brady, who took to social media to commend them. He called them ‘BEASTS’ and added, ‘When you one up Gronk, you’re doing something right.’

Travis Kelce now holds the third spot on the all-time playoff touchdown list with 18 scores. Emmitt Smith and Thurman Thompson top the chart with 21 touchdowns each, while the legendary Jerry Rice leads the pack with 22 touchdowns.

In addition to his touchdowns, Kelce is quickly closing in on Jerry Rice’s record of 151 catches in NFL playoff history, currently just six receptions behind. Mahomes, on the other hand, sits at sixth place in the NFL record books with 38 playoff touchdown passes, still far away from Brady’s remarkable record of 88.

The Chiefs’ victory over the Bills secures their spot in the AFC Championship game, where they will face either the Cleveland Browns or the Baltimore Ravens.
