Patriots Secure Win Streak with Victory Over Buccaneers
Foxborough, MA – The New England Patriots extended their winning streak to seven games with a hard-fought 28-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on November 10. This win places the Patriots at an impressive 8-2 record as they prepare for a Thursday night matchup against the New York Jets in Week 11.
In a game where many players excelled, veteran wide receiver Matt Hollins emerged as a key contributor. He caught six passes for 106 yards, providing vital support to quarterback Drake Maye, who had an inconsistent performance.
Head coach Mike Vrabel praised Hollins for his leadership and professionalism, noting his distinctive personality. “I appreciate his professionalism. Don’t judge a book by its cover. He walks around like Encino Man, but he’s smart, he’s easy to talk to, I enjoy our conversations,” Vrabel said. The reference to “Encino Man,” a 1992 film about a caveman befriended by high schoolers, underscores Hollins’s unique style, including his penchant for going barefoot.
The Patriots are gearing up for their next challenge against the Jets, who are dealing with significant injuries. Jets’ quarterback Zach Wilson has been sidelined multiple times this season and recently reaggravated a knee injury that may keep him out for another three to four weeks, according to reports.
When asked about Wilson’s status at a press conference, Jets’ head coach Aaron Glenn humorously deferred to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, saying, “I’m going to pass on talking about injuries since Rich has all the answers.” Regardless of Wilson’s injury, the Patriots aim to maintain their momentum and could be favored even more if he cannot play.
