Philip Schofield reportedly avoids watching Holly Willoughby on Dancing On Ice amid ongoing feud
Philip Schofield, former co-host of This Morning, reportedly did not tune in to watch Holly Willoughby make her TV return on Dancing On Ice. The pair, who had an alleged falling out behind the scenes, have had a strained friendship, which made it difficult for Schofield to watch Willoughby on the show. According to a source, Schofield is 'still bruised' by their falling out and even the theme tune of the show is triggering for him. It is unlikely that he will be avidly tuning in to watch her return as he prefers to live a quiet life away from the spotlight.
Schofield and Willoughby had faced criticism in the past, including accusations of skipping the queue to visit the late Queen Elizabeth II lying in state. Despite defending themselves and stating they did not break any rules, the criticism continued to plague them. The pair had also faced allegations of a soured relationship behind the scenes during their time on This Morning.
Schofield did offer his support to Willoughby when news of an alleged kidnap plot against her broke, but they have not been in contact since. It is unclear whether they have spoken prior to Willoughby’s return to Dancing On Ice.
Meanwhile, Willoughby made her grand return to television on Sunday alongside Stephen Mulhern as they hosted Dancing On Ice. Viewers praised Mulhern for bringing fresh energy to the show and injecting fun into the episode. However, not everyone was impressed, with some viewers finding the presenting duo trying too hard or lacking chemistry.
Stephen Mulhern, who presented an ITV2 spin-off series Defrosted in 2006, stood in for Schofield when he fell ill with Covid in 2022. Mulhern’s role as a regular co-host on Dancing On Ice shows his rising profile in the industry and his journey to becoming a serious primetime contender.
