Pokemon GO Welcomes Mega Audino at Upcoming Raid Day

REDMOND, Wash. — Players of the popular mobile game Pokemon GO can look forward to the debut of Mega Audino during a special Raid Day event on Saturday, April 5. The Mega Evolution of the fifth-generation Pokemon will be accessible to players from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

During this three-hour window, trainers will have the unique opportunity to encounter Mega Audino in Mega Raids. Completing these raids will allow players to catch this Fairy-type evolution for the first time in the game, which is an exciting addition for fans. As part of the celebration, Audino will also learn a new Charged Attack called Moonblast, enhancing its capabilities in battles.

“This will be a game-changer for trainers, not just for catching Audino but also for battling with it,” said a Niantic spokesperson regarding the new move. Moonblast, a Fairy-type attack, will have a base power of 110 in Trainer Battles and 130 in Gyms and Raids. This positions it as a stronger option compared to both Disarming Voice and Dazzling Gleam.

In addition to the new attack, players participating in the event will have an increased chance of finding a Shiny Audino, which features distinct purple highlights compared to the regular pink model. However, the differences between Shiny Audino and its Mega form are minimal, with the most notable change being the eye color shift from pink to yellow.

The Raid Day will also see an increase in the Remote Raid limit to 20, starting April 4 at 5 p.m. and continuing until April 5 at 8 p.m. PT. This allows more players to participate in Mega Raids, regardless of their location. An Event Ticket priced at $5 USD (or equivalent) is also available for purchase, granting players bonuses such as additional Raid Passes and double XP and Stardust from Raid Battles.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate additional Mega Evolutions to roll out following Mega Audino’s introduction. Notable Mega Evolutions still awaited in Pokemon GO include Mega Sharpedo, Mega Camerupt, and both Mega Mewtwo X and Y. These remain as the final Mega Evolutions introduced in the games Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire.

Niantic is keen on releasing Mega Evolutions throughout 2025, especially with the upcoming launch of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which is expected to deepen the franchise’s exploration of the Kalos region. While fans are eager for new Mega Evolutions to be unveiled, The Pokemon Company has yet to announce newcomers officially.
