PSG Faces Stade de Reims Without Key Players for Ligue 1 Matchday 5

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is set to face Stade de Reims for Matchday 5 of Ligue 1 competition. However, the team from the French capital will be missing some key players, including goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and defender Achraf Hakimi. PSG’s manager, Luis Enrique, has already confirmed the starting lineup for this crucial game.

The Parisians are coming off a narrow victory in their UEFA Champions League opener, having overcome Girona 1-0 at the Parc des Princes. The lone goal of that match came late, courtesy of a mistake by Girona’s goalkeeper, who mishandled a straightforward attempt from Nuno Mendes. Despite managing to secure the win, PSG showcased a performance that left much to be desired. Although they registered 26 shots, their victory was largely due to their opponent’s errors rather than their own offensive prowess.

Heading into their domestic fixture, PSG aims to maintain their momentum and continue their unbeaten streak in Ligue 1. Coach Luis Enrique has once again delivered a surprise with his choice of starting XI. According to French sports outlet L'Équipe, PSG is expected to deploy a three-man defensive line featuring Marquinhos, Robert Pacho, and Beraldo in the absence of Donnarumma. Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov is slated to start between the posts.

The tactical setup also includes Warren Zaire-Emery positioned as a right wing-back, with Ragnar Doue operating on the left. Joao Neves and Vitinha are set to command the midfield, while the forward line will consist of Kang-in Lee, Randal Kolo Muani, and Bradley Barcola.

Meanwhile, Stade de Reims enters the matchup with minimal surprises in their roster as anticipated by the media. The significant change for Reims is the inclusion of Fofana in the starting XI over Teuma, who has been placed on the bench. Alexandro Fochive will feature on the left side for Reims.
