PARIS, France — Ousmane Dembélé is set to join the Paris Saint-Germain squad for their Champions League match against Tottenham on Wednesday.

Coach Luis Enrique confirmed on Tuesday that Dembélé participated in training and is expected to play if he has no issues. “We will see tomorrow. If there are no problems, he will be among the called players,” Enrique said.

Dembélé has faced challenges this season due to injuries, missing six weeks earlier in the season with a thigh injury. He returned to action on November 5 against Bayern Munich but was forced to leave the match in the 25th minute due to calf discomfort.

PSG will be without two key players for the match: Désiré Doué, who is out with a thigh injury, and Achraf Hakimi, who has an ankle sprain. “It’s complicated to replace Achraf; he was one of the best players last season,” said striker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. “The coach has tried a few solutions without him, and I hope he returns soon. He is a fabulous player.”

Enrique praised Hakimi for winning the African Ballon d’Or but downplayed any talk of his return, focusing instead on preparing the team for the Tottenham match.

“I am the coach of PSG, and we play against Tottenham tomorrow. I congratulate Hakimi for his trophy, but I have no thoughts about his return to competition right now,” Enrique concluded.
