Quarterbacks Dominate Early Selections in 2025 NFL Mock Draft

GREEN BAY, Wis. — In a surprise twist, NFL Media analyst Charles Davis has projected three quarterbacks will be selected with the first three picks in his initial mock draft for the 2025 NFL Draft. With the draft approaching, Davis’s predictions reflect shifting team needs and prospect evaluations.
The Tennessee Titans are expected to select Shedeur Sanders from Colorado with the No. 1 overall pick. According to Davis, second-year head coach Brian Callahan sees similarities between Sanders and past quarterbacking successes from his time in Cincinnati. ‘It’s a huge moment for the Titans, and they need a franchise quarterback,’ Davis stated.
Following Sanders, Miami‘s Cam Ward is anticipated to be chosen by the Cleveland Browns at No. 2. Davis notes Ward’s rising stock as he transitions from Incarnate Word to Washington State and ultimately to Miami, where he hopes to establish himself in the NFL. The Browns, desperate for a quarterback, are banking on Ward’s potential to elevate their offense.
At No. 3, the New York Giants are positioned to grab Jaxson Dart of Mississippi, a selection that Davis insists could address a significant gap in the team’s roster. ‘The last time the Giants went all in on a quarterback from Ole Miss, it worked out well. Dart brings talents that the team can’t afford to pass up,’ Davis remarked.
Dart is not only a standout in this draft class but carries the weight of previous records held by the NFL legend Eli Manning. Manning congratulated Dart after he broke his all-time passing record at Ole Miss during the Egg Bowl last November, praising him as a ‘great kid’ with a promising future. ‘He’s been a huge role model for me,’ Dart acknowledged, expressing admiration for Manning during his interactions at the NFL Scouting Combine.
As the draft order solidifies, the assessment of team needs only grows more critical. Teams such as the San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers are also making headlines for their strategic priorities. Davis predicts the 49ers will draft defensive end Mike Green from Marshall at No. 11 overall, addressing a crucial area as they welcome back defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.
Back at the first three picks, Davis is confident that the quarterback carousel will undoubtedly impact the remainder of the draft. ‘This year has more depth in quarterback talent. That will steer lots of conversations,’ Davis concluded, emphasizing the fluid landscape of team strategies heading into April’s draft.
