Al Raed Officially Relegated Ahead of Crucial Match Against Al Ittihad

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Al Raed has officially been relegated from the Saudi Arabian top flight after a disappointing 1-0 loss to Damak last weekend. The defeat confirmed their position at the bottom of the league as they prepare to face Al Ittihad this Thursday at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium.
With only three matches left in the season, Al Raed’s struggle has resulted in 22 losses out of 31 games, leaving them with just 21 points. They will host an Al Ittihad side that is six points clear at the top of the table, having recently regained form.
“We are focused on our game against Al Raed,” said Al Ittihad’s coach. “We aim to secure the league title soon, and every match is crucial for that.” Al Ittihad can clinch the championship with a victory on Thursday, especially if Al Hilal slips up in their match.
In their last outing, Al Ittihad secured a solid 3-0 win against Al Fayha, with Karim Benzema scoring twice and benefiting from an own goal by goalkeeper Mohammed Kareem Al Baqawi. This victory marked Al Ittihad’s third consecutive win and bolstered their bid for the title.
Al Raed has struggled throughout the season, achieving only six wins and three draws. They have lost their last ten home games, making them the league’s least formidable opponent. With their relegation confirmed, they have little to play for except pride in their remaining matches.
“We will give our best in the upcoming match, despite the challenges we’ve faced,” said Al Raed’s captain. “Our focus is on concluding the season positively.”
The match will kick off at 7:00 PM UK time and will be available for viewers on DAZN in the UK and Fox in the US. Fans expecting an exciting clash should prepare for a decisive night in league action as Al Ittihad seeks to solidify their championship credentials.
