Rangers Dominate Hearts To Extend Lead At The Top Of The Premiership

Rangers put on a dominant display against Hearts at Ibrox, securing a resounding 5-0 victory to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Mohamed Diomande opened the scoring just over a minute into the game, followed by Oscar Cortés adding a second goal before halftime. Cyriel Dessers then netted twice, with Fábio Silva scoring the fifth goal, sealing Rangers’ biggest home win of the season.

Philippe Clement‘s side now sit five points clear of Celtic in the Premiership standings, putting pressure on their rivals who face Motherwell in their upcoming fixture.

Rangers were without the injured Todd Cantwell but made significant changes to their lineup, including the return of Kemar Roofe to the bench. Hearts, led by Steven Naismith and Lawrence Shankland, were unable to match the intensity of the home side.

The match saw standout performances from players such as Nathaniel Atkinson, Jorge Grant, and Kenneth Vargas for Hearts, while Ridvan Yilmaz, Dujon Sterling, and Zander Clark put in solid displays for Rangers.

James Tavernier, John Souttar, and Jack Butland were instrumental in maintaining Rangers’ lead, with VAR also coming into play to confirm some key decisions during the game.

Ross McCausland, Kyosuke Tagawa, and the upcoming fixture against Kilmarnock are now the focus for Rangers as they continue their pursuit of the Premiership title.
