Real Betis Girona Match

Seville, Spain — The stage is set for a record-breaking attendance at La Cartuja this Sunday as Real Betis hosts Girona CF in a match anticipated to draw close to a full house. With Isco Alarcón making his return, fans are eager to witness the event, which kicks off at 4:15 PM local time.

Tickets for the match are nearly sold out, endangering Betis’ current record of 65,222 attendees, set on August 31 against Athletic. As of Saturday afternoon, around 9,000 tickets had been sold, indicating a possible crowd size approaching 70,000.

Betis enjoys a loyal fanbase with 57,000 season ticket holders. The sunny weather expected for the match and the team’s solid performance have further fueled interest, contributing to a hopeful atmosphere in Seville.

This season, Betis has averaged 56,996 fans per match at La Cartuja, making it the third-highest venue in LaLiga attendance, following the Santiago Bernabéu and Wanda Metropolitano stadiums. In contrast, Girona struggles with an attendance record, having garnered only two away wins in their last 15 matches this year.

Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that aside from goalkeeper Pau López, who will miss the game, the squad remains primarily unchanged. Junior, returning from injury, may replace Valentín Gómez in the lineup. Pellegrini’s expected starting eleven is Alvaro Valles; Bellerín, Bartra, Natan, and Junior; Amrabat, Fornals; Antony, Lo Celso, Abde; and Cucho Hernández.

Conversely, Girona arrives with eight injuries, complicating their chances against the formidable Betis. The away team, led by coach Míchel, currently holds relegation positions in LaLiga, having won just two games this season.

The match promises to be a thrilling encounter for fans, with potential historical significance for Real Betis, as they aim for their fifth league victory at home this season.
