Richard Gere and Wife Alejandra Silva Embark on New Chapter in Spain
Actor Richard Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, are preparing for a significant life change as they plan to relocate from the United States to Spain. The couple, who have been married since 2018, are moving to Madrid with their two young sons, Alexander, 5, and James, 4. This decision marks a new chapter in their lives, with Gere expressing his excitement about immersing himself in Spanish culture and lifestyle.
Alejandra Silva, a Spanish publicist, recently shared a scenic photo of New York in the fall, capturing the city’s iconic skyline framed by autumn leaves. This image was posted as the couple prepares to leave their current home in New Canaan, Connecticut, where they reside in a mansion previously owned by musician Paul Simon.
The new home in Madrid, located in the exclusive La Moraleja neighborhood, is a luxurious mansion featuring over 10,000 square meters of land, a heated pool, a private wine cellar, and a three-story house spanning more than 1,000 square meters. The estate was purchased for a reported €11 million and is set to be the perfect family haven.
Gere’s decision to move is motivated by a desire to embrace Alejandra’s culture and family traditions. He acknowledged the reciprocal nature of their relationship, stating that since Alejandra had lived in his world for six years, it was only fair that he now live in hers for at least another six years.
The actor has always been a fan of Spain and has expressed his admiration for the country’s way of life, food, and people. He looks forward to his children growing up closer to their mother’s heritage and learning the language and traditions that are important to her.
This move is part of the couple’s ongoing affinity for Spain, where they have spent considerable time over the years. They have explored potential properties in Madrid and even launched a sustainable luxury residential complex in Mexico last year.
