Ridge Holland Announces Departure from WWE Amid Injury Recovery

ORLANDO, Fla. — WWE Superstar Ridge Holland revealed Monday that he will not have his contract renewed by the company. His current deal is set to expire on November 14.
The news follows Holland’s serious Lisfranc foot injury sustained while competing for TNA Wrestling as part of a crossover storyline with WWE. In a heartfelt social media post, Holland expressed his frustration with the timing of the decision, especially as he faces a six-month recovery after surgery.
“I’ve been informed that WWE will not be renewing my contract when it ends on November 14th,” Holland wrote. “WWE are still going to cover my rehab from injury but my guaranteed pay will end, quite frustrating to say the least as I cannot work for another 6 months due to the aforementioned injury, with a family of 5 to support.”
Holland, a former professional rugby player, joined WWE in 2018 and has competed across various brands including NXT UK and Evolve. He underwent surgery on October 3 following his injury, which occurred during a TNA taping in a match against Moose.
Despite the challenges he faced in WWE, Holland remained grateful for the opportunity. “My career with WWE has been blighted by misfortune but I’m still thankful and grateful for the opportunity and experience,” he wrote. He plans to focus on healing and will launch an online coaching business during his recovery.
His impending departure adds to a significant roster change for the NXT brand. Recently, WWE released several other talents from its Performance Center, hinting at a shift as the brand approaches its Halloween Havoc special.
