Rivers United Vs Shooting Stars

Rivers United‘s technical adviser, Finidi George, has emphasized the implementation of strategic tactics for their upcoming match against Shooting Stars, according to a report by BSNSports.com.ng. The game is set to take place in a midweek fixture at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

George articulated that the players require adequate rest following their extensive travel to Katsina. “We’ll plan carefully to ensure the boys recover properly after the two-day journey,” he conveyed to Rivers United’s media team. “It’s not easy being on the road, but we’ll get them ready for Shooting Stars,” George added, underlining the importance of recovery and readiness.

In related news, Finidi George commended defender Stephen Manyo for his outstanding performance in the recent goalless draw against Katsina United at the Muhammed Dikko Stadium on Sunday. George lauded Manyo’s game, praising his resilience in facing his former team.

“He had a fantastic game,” Finidi stated to the club’s media. “The love shown to him from the onset motivated him, and he didn’t want to lose against his former club. I commend him for that; it’s not easy to play against your former team and excel,” George expressed, speaking to the significant challenge and motivation Manyo experienced during the match.

Daily Post recalls that Stephen Manyo transferred to Rivers United from Katsina United at the beginning of the 2024-25 season. His recent performance highlights a noteworthy and emotional encounter with his former teammates.
