MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Houston Rockets (4-2) will face the Memphis Grizzlies (3-5) Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET at FedExForum. The Rockets are on a four-game winning streak, while the Grizzlies have lost three straight.

Houston defeated the Dallas Mavericks 110-102 on Monday, although they did not cover the spread as a 12.5-point favorite. Amen Thompson led the Rockets with 27 points, shooting 61% from the field. After a rocky start to the season, the Rockets appear to have found their rhythm, going 4-2 against the spread (ATS).

Meanwhile, Memphis, still reeling from the recent suspension of star guard Ja Morant, lost to the Toronto Raptors 114-106. Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 21 points, but the Grizzlies struggled to keep up. Memphis has now dropped three games in a row and currently holds a 2-6 record against the spread.

In their last encounter, the Rockets overpowered the Grizzlies, winning 118-109. Players are noting a stark difference in their performances; while the Rockets have an impressive scoring average of over 124 points per game on the road, the Grizzlies are averaging only 105 points over their last two games. The Rockets have proven to be strong contenders this season, ranking first in offensive rating.

Houston’s strength will be tested as they look to maintain their momentum. The team is favored by 7.5 points tonight. Kevin Durant has been exceptional for the Rockets, averaging 26.2 points per game, supported by Alperen Sengun‘s career-high 22.8 points per game. The Rockets also have Tari Eason stepping up in place of the injured Jabari Smith Jr. for their upcoming matchup.

The Grizzlies face challenges as they continue to deal with injuries across the roster. Memphis needs to quickly adjust and regain their form to confront an aggressive Rockets squad. Morant’s recent performance shows potential despite the team’s overall struggles.

With both teams headed in different directions this season, the Rockets are well-positioned to absorb the Grizzlies’ weaknesses and aim for a decisive victory.
