Roland-Garros 2025: What Fans Can Expect This Year

PARIS, France — The French Open, known as Roland-Garros, will kick off on May 19, 2025, with exciting tennis action ongoing until June 8. More than 170 television channels and digital platforms will broadcast the tournament across 220 territories worldwide, ensuring that fans do not miss a moment of the competition.
This year, the coverage promises to be especially sharp and engaging. In France, both France Télévisions and Prime Video will exclusively broadcast matches during the Opening Week, including all days leading up to the quarterfinals. Daily qualifying matches will be aired live on France 4, except on May 21.
For international viewers, extensive coverage will continue with many networks. In the United States, Warner Bros. Discovery has secured broadcasting rights for the next ten years, featuring comprehensive coverage on various platforms. Highlights include a daily multiplex and dedicated content on digital platforms like Bleacher Report.
The prize money at Roland-Garros has seen a notable increase. The total prize pool rose from 53.478 million euros in 2024 to a record 56.352 million euros in 2025. Notably, all players, regardless of gender, will receive equal compensation, with winners of the singles events each taking home 2.55 million euros.
Some French players have already earned a place in the final draw, including Arthur Fils and Caroline Garcia. A total of 15 French men and 8 women will be competing, adding local excitement to the tournament. Each player’s seeding is determined based on ATP and WTA rankings.
