Sam Neill Shines in Peacock’s ‘Apples Never Fall’ as Tennis Pro in New Drama Series
Emmy-nominated actor Sam Neill takes on a new challenge in his career as he steps into the role of tennis coach Stan Delaney in Peacock‘s latest drama series, ‘Apples Never Fall‘.
Known for his versatile performances in films like ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘Possession,’ Neill admits to the unique experience of working with a tennis pro to hone his skills for the role of Stan Delaney.
“I needed a lot of help and I got a lot of help, which is just as well. I’m not the world’s most naturally athletic guy,” Neill shared in an interview with IndieWire.
Under the guidance of a professional, Neill dedicated himself to learning the intricacies of the sport to authentically portray the alpha male tennis coach on screen.
Collaborating with showrunner and executive producer Melanie Marnich, Neill was drawn to the narrative of ‘Apples Never Fall,’ adapted from Liane Moriarty‘s captivating novel.
In the series, set in Florida but filmed in Australia, Neill shines alongside the talented Annette Bening, embodying the complexities of family dynamics and uncovering dark secrets.
While the series delves into the lives of the Delaney family, Neill expresses his admiration for Bening, calling their on-screen partnership one of the most rewarding experiences in his career.
With ‘Apples Never Fall’ now streaming on Peacock, viewers are drawn into a world of suspense, mystery, and familial intrigue, all anchored by Neill’s powerful portrayal of Stan Delaney.
