MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Scottie Scheffler continues to find success in the world of golf, largely due to his focus on consistency and routine. As he prepares for the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Scheffler emphasizes the importance of sticking to his well-practiced methods.

“It’s more checkpoints,” Scheffler said, discussing how his pre-tournament routines help him adapt to varying course conditions. He aims to get used to the grass, measure how far he hits the ball, and understand the speed of the greens before tournament play.

Consistency extends beyond his golf game. Scheffler drives the same SUV he has owned for years and frequents two local Chipotle restaurants. His dedication to routine even led him to pay $50 on eBay for a specific divot repair tool that he lost. He first found it at Cypress Point and returned to buy extras recently.

“It’s just the right size and it’s metal,” Scheffler explained. “They don’t really make those types of divot tools anymore.”

Following a restful two-week break, which included celebrations for his Open Championship victory, Scheffler feels ready for challenges ahead. “Making sure I’m rested, ready to play,” he said. “My game is in a good spot.”

As the favorite to win another Player of the Year Award, Scheffler aims to capitalize on his momentum during the FedExCup Playoffs. He has consistently performed well this season, winning four tournaments since May and not finishing worse than eighth since THE PLAYERS Championship.

With his eye on adding to his successes, Scheffler is determined to maintain his competitive edge through the tournament, demonstrating how routine and dedication can pay off in professional sports.
